Victorious

20180321_2241441721681258.png

tonight you watch her

her snake-like sway has you mesmerized

and all too willing

you step inside.

this game she’s winning,

she already knows

all it took

was a quiet ‘hello’.

she twirls around,

your biggest weakness,

she closes in

your heart stops beating.

her lips mere inches

your eyes blown wide

endorphins running

no running now.

your lips

they meet

your breathing stills

your eyes go wide

as it sets in.

as you look up

you’re confronted by

a pair of brown poisonous eyes

filled with pure hunger as they plunge deep into your rapidly beating chest.

when she is done all that’s left is but a carcass in a mangled state of desperation and unquenchable thirst.

you thought you watched her

but she watched you

one step ahead

she always knew.

before the rules

were even written

the game was won

she was the victor.

  1. Hmm. I’d like to meet her. 🙂

  2. The coyness of portrayal is, for me, what brought about the narrative in its chilling manner. Good stuff!
